About Elizabeth

I am a Gulf Coast native from Mobile, Ala. Professionally, I am a writer, a retreat leader, consultant, and public speaker. I served as pastor of the St. Charles Ave. Baptist Church from 2013-2023 and worked in congregational church ministry for 25 years.

Before our time in New Orleans, my husband, Nathan, and I lived in Richmond, Virginia, for a decade while I attended seminary, and where we also welcomed our two children. College sweethearts from Birmingham’s Samford University, we’ve been married more than 20 years.

Nathan works in historic preservation and is currently the new Executive Director of the Historic Macon Foundation. Yes, that’s in Georgia. And yes, the teenagers and I live in New Orleans. It’s a season of transition for our family with a lot shifts and changes. Follow along on my podcast, Beyond Religion, if you want the real-time updates.

For now, I am delighted to call New Orleans home and raise my family in this magical place.

Grace + Peace,

Elizabeth
